Curriculum

In our Pre-K Busy Bee classroom, everyday is a beehive of activity! Our teachers use the MD State Department of Education-approved 'Investigator Club Curriculum' to help your child become Kindergarten-ready.

You can find our Bees hard at work writing and tracing their names, letters, and numbers. Through the use of music, stories, and poems we work on phonics, sight words and language skills, as well as explore graphing, art appreciation, social studies and science.

Homework is given each week to reinforce skills learned.

With the introduction of our new InvestiGator Club curriculum comes a variation in the arrangement of our weekly activities. Each week we cover the foundational skills and traditional classroom practices we’ve always had but each day of the week may look different than the week before.

Each week, through one of seven investigation themes, children use their natural curiosity and hands-on activities to learn the foundational elements of their education: the alphabet, their numbers, to write and speak effectively, and phonics. They will use these skills to work on math and science activities, reading, writing, and investigating as well as their social and emotional growth and well-being.

Our goal with these changes is to continue to provide the highest quality educational experience possible so your child can gain the skills he or she needs to be a successful learner.
